The comfort of a caring connection

Cuddles &
supportive touch.

A hug, a hand to hold, or a quiet moment beside someone can offer a welcome sense of connection. Our sessions create space for comforting, platonic touch, guided by your preferences and ongoing consent.

Make room for calm

Gentle, welcome touch may help you relax and feel less stressed. There is no pressure to talk or do anything beyond what feels comfortable.

Feel connected

Supportive touch offers a moment of companionship that may ease feelings of loneliness and bring a sense of comfort, belonging, and well-being.

Connect beyond words

Touch can be a form of non-verbal communication. A supportive presence can offer comfort without needing to find the right words, while clear check-ins keep your boundaries at the centre.

Pause and rest

A calming environment gives you room to slow down and settle. You can choose quiet companionship or include a power nap within your session time.

What your session can include

  • Hugs, hand holding, or light supportive touch
  • Side-by-side relaxation
  • Spooning or seated holding
  • Resting your head on a shoulder or lap

Your comfort guides us

We discuss your preferred touch, positions, pressure, and off-limit areas before beginning. Ask to pause, stop, or change anything at any time. Every interaction is strictly platonic and based on ongoing consent.

Plan your visit

Potential benefits vary from person to person. Research covers many forms of touch, including massage, and does not establish that a cuddle session will produce the same results. Our sessions offer comfort and connection, not medical treatment. Read the research on touch interventions.

The comfort of connection

Small moments
can help us settle.

People respond in different ways. Potential benefits of safe, consensual touch may include:

✧ A greater sense of calm and relaxation
✧ Comfort, belonging, and connection
✧ A mindful awareness of the body
✧ Space to practice boundaries and trust
✧ Relief from feelings of loneliness
✧ A supportive pause in a stressful day
✧ A more settled, rest-and-digest state
✧ Improved mood and emotional resilience
✧ Greater self-esteem and feelings of self-worth
✧ Relaxation of muscle tension and physical stress
✧ Lower heart rate or blood pressure during relaxation for some people
✧ Research also examines stress hormones and other physiological measures; individual effects vary
✧ A supportive setting to rebuild trust and comfort with safe touch
✧ Opportunities for healthy non-verbal communication and emotional expression

These are possible experiences, not promised outcomes. Research on touch interventions spans different populations, types of touch, and measures, so findings vary. Read a systematic review. Humane Touch Sanctuary offers wellness, not medical treatment or diagnosis.

Gentle, honest care

Every response
is welcome.

Touch-based relaxation can feel different for everyone. A calm environment and ongoing check-ins help you stay comfortable and supported throughout.

01

Deep calm or sleepiness

You may feel relaxed, drowsy, or a little floaty after a session. Give yourself space to take it slow.

02

Emotions coming up

You may feel tender, emotionally open, or tearful, and want quiet or space afterwards. Journaling is one option. You can pause or end the session whenever you like.

03

A need for grounding

Touch can occasionally bring up difficult memories, panic, or a flashback, especially for trauma survivors. This is uncommon, but we take it seriously. Ongoing consent and check-ins are central; you can pause, stop, change position, or ask for space at any time.

04

Minor physical discomfort

Unfamiliar supported positions or prolonged holding may cause mild, temporary soreness, sometimes noticed later. Please share discomfort as it arises; seek medical advice for severe, worsening, or persistent pain.

Sessions take place in a quiet, clean, intentionally comforting setting, with communication encouraged throughout. You are always welcome to change position, ask for more space, pause, or stop. Your comfort comes first.
